Generations of Lanvin have built this inspirational fashion brand; originator Jeanne Lanvin quickly progressed from a simple milliner to owning her own fashion house. Using inspiration from her daughter’s birth she developed lines for children and eventually adults in the early 1900’s, extending these lines to a wedding and sporting range. After the death of Jeanne Lanvin in 1946 her daughter took over the brand and eventually Maryll Lanvin led the haute Couture section from 1985. Still a leader in the fashion industry, the Lanvin brand is now owned by Chinese business woman Shaw Lan Wang and highly acclaimed Albert Elbaz now heads up the art department as art director. Recently Lanvin teamed up with H&M to merge the fashion worlds of designer and high street, creating a catwalk quality range for the high street giant and making designer clothing accessible to the masses.
