Karl Lagerfeld Women's Oversized Arm Detail Sunglasses

A German designer known for his love of the little black dress is a favourite amongst many celebrities including Elizabeth Taylor. His collaborations with Chloe, Diesel and Tiziani (to name a few) have made a name for Lagerfeld. Founder of fashion house Chanel and of the Italian fashion house Fendi, Lagerfeld started out as an apprentice for designer Pierre Balmain in 1955.

With help from his family, Lagerfeld went at it alone and opened up his own shop in Paris and freelanced for designers like Mario Valentino. After designing outfits for musicians such as Madonna, for her Reinvention tour, and Kylie, for her Showgirl tour, Karl was awarded ‘The Couture Council Fashion Visionary Award’ by the Couture Council of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Lagerfeld is known for his catwalk to high street designs, working with Diesel to create a simple line of jeans and fitted shirts, his designs sold out within days. Lagerfeld also has a keen eye for photography having worked with Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and produced a book called Visionaire 23: The Emperor's New Clothes.

Most recently Lagerfeld has collaborated with Swedish crystal manufacturer Orrefors to create a crystal art collection called "Orrefors by Karl Lagerfeld".
