I really like this backpack, definitely met my expectations. I was initially drawn only by the look, however the waterproof design is very useful. I don't live in a particularly rainy area, but I can recall unexpected rainy days when this would have been convenient. My books and laptop will from now on be safe. It ended up being a bit larger than I expected. The height of the front is 16in. (41cm.), width of the bottom is 14.5in. (37cm.), and the depth is 4.5in. (12cm.) If you are a small-framed individual, you might find that this bag is a bit too large for you. I couldn't find information anywhere regarding the dimensions of this bag, so others might like to know as well before purchasing. The only reason I rated 4 stars rather than 5 is that the material that this bag is made of has a strange odour... a somewhat fishy smell (as odd as that sounds). I can't seem to be able to get rid of it and I don't know how long it will take to wear off on its own. The odour will stick to cloth as well; I carried a sweater in the bag and it quickly absorbed the smell. I don't know if this is typical of RAINS products in general or if it has something to do perhaps with how these products are stored. Otherwise, very pleased and will consider purchasing other RAINS items in the future.
