Our 5 Favourite Italian Brands To Wear At Milan Fashion Week

When in Milan, do as the Milanese do: so, when jet-setting over to this stylish metropolis for Fashion Week, it seems only fitting to make sure you’re wearing some pieces from Italy’s hottest designers…

If you’re looking to add some Italian flair into your street style for Milan Fashion Week, MyBag has the answer. Take a peek below at some of our favourite Italian designers that deserve to be showcased at this year’s MFW…

Coccinelle

Founded nearly 750 miles away from Milan, accessories from Palma-based brand Coccinelle are quickly becoming a wardrobe staple for the fashionable woman. Made with the highest quality leathers, Coccinelle bags are the perfect combination of minimalist and understated, yet stylish: their SS17 collection features clean lines, muted colours and discreet metalwork – not dissimilar to the Chloé seasonal drop. Our favourite styles feature suede top handles and D-shaped clasps – wear with mom-jeans and backless loafers this Milan Fashion Week.

Miu Miu

Miu Miu: the brand so good, they named it twice. A relatively young brand, Miu Miu was founded in 1993 and has grown into one of the largest luxury accessories brands of the moment: not for the faint-hearted, Miu Mium sunglasses, bags and clothing feature ornate detailing, heavy embellishment and bold, directional silhouettes. We love!

Furla

It-brand of the moment, Furla has been dominating social media of late – if you’re not rocking a statement Furla bag on Instagram, are you even on-trend?

Since the Furlanetta family launched the brand in the early 1930s, Furla have been creating luxury handbags that never cease to be in high demand.  With a variety of styles to choose from, our favourite shape has to be the Metropolis Mini: cute and compact, this miniature crossbody comes in all colours of the rainbow, embellished with crystals, fur, studs and more.

Prada

With Milanese heritage and strong Italian design, is there a better brand to wear to MFW than Prada? Founded in 1913, Prada specialise in ready-to-wear pieces, and the eponymous brand is arguably one of the largest luxury labels dominating the fashion scene;  their accessories are crafted with the utmost care and scream classic minimalism. For the ultimate in Italian chic, pair a strong pair of sunglasses with a crisp white shirt and spray-on skinnies…

Salar

Practically a baby in fashion terms, Salar has caused quite a stir since launch in 2010. Another brand hailing from Milan, Salar has featured in Vogue Italia and is loved by celebrities, bloggers and fashion conscious dressers across the globe. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a host of Salar bags shot at Fashion Week – our favourites have to be the most out-there styles, featuring spikes, snake-print and spherical silhouettes. Can we have them all?
