How is it nearly August already? Time has flown by this month, and here at MyBag HQ, we feel like we’ve barely stopped to take a breath…

We take a look back over the last four weeks to explore the highs and lows of fashion in July 2016 – which is your favourite?

Paul Smith Turns Seventy

British national treasure - and all round trendsetter - Paul Smith turned the big seven-oh this month, celebrating his birthday on the 5th July.  One of our favourite British designers of all time, Paul Smith’s eponymous line is the perfect blend of quirky and classic – think bright colours, a plethora of print and the iconic Paul Smith stripe.

Wimbledon Promoted British Chic

July marked the finish of Wimbledon, with Andy Murray scooping the victory yet again. Wimbledon is one of our favourite sporting events ever, mainly because of the serious style you can spot in the stands - Kim Murray was, as ever, a picture of British traditionalism, sporting her Aspinal of London Marylebone Tote almost every day to cheer on her husband.

Maria Grazia Chiuri Left Valentino (Then Went to Dior)

After 17 years, Maria Grazia Chiuri has left her position as Creative Director of Valentino – and taken over creative directorship of LVMH-owned Dior, reports suggest. Pierpaolo Piccioli, her long-time collaborator and co-designer, will continue to head up the innovation of Valentino – we can’t wait to see what the next few seasons bring.

New York Fashion Week: Men’s is over for another season, but we’re still thinking about some of our favourite trends from the catwalks. Namely, cobalt blue (from Balmain, Prada, and Fendi), oversized silhouettes from Michael Kors and Emporio Armani, and the addition of hats (Missoni and Etro couldn’t get enough of the headwear trend).

Prince George Celebrated His Birthday and Looked Super Cute

Finally, our favourite royal Prince George turned three this month, and couldn’t have looked any cuter.  Someone has obviously told him that stripes are so in at the moment, because he wore an utterly adorable nautical-inspired tee for a day out with the pet pooch.

Lover of statement accessories, scented candles, anything pink and a little bit of sparkle. A Southern girl in Manchester, when I’m not drooling over designer handbags I can be found fashion blogging, or exploring my new Northern home. My signature look? A nude lip and a very flamboyant pair of shoes.
