The gold metal strap is detachable, meaning that the handbag can be used as a clutch, should the occasion call for it. But with the strap attached, the purse sits at a comfortable hip length. To prevent the metal rubbing against skin or fragile fabrics, a small part of the strap that should lie over the shoulder has been switched to black leather. The purse is zip closed, which will help with security. The bag is petite, to remove the temptation to overfill it, but is still more than large enough to carry important necessities.
