The pastel trend is one that pops up every spring/summer and it’s no different this season, with Burberry Prorsum, Fendi, Chanel and Derek Lam all using pastel shades in their SS15 collections. Fresh, soft and feminine, pastels are perfect for this time of year and this season they’ve been updated – think cool and contemporary, rather than grandma-chic.

Swedish blogger Kenza mixes up her colours in this outfit, pairing a white top, jacket and shoes with powder blue trousers and a pale lilac clutch. The use of white adds a clean and more minimal feel to the outfit, breaking up the pastel colours and preventing it from looking overly sweet.

Alternatively, go for head-to-toe pastels like Patricia from the blog Peexo. By mixing textures and different shades of pink, she keeps her outfit coordinated but interesting – plus her lace-up sandals add a bit of edge to her look and are totally on-trend.

Christine from Hello Fashion shows us how to subtly inject pastels into your outfit – perfect if you want to pay reference to the trend without going overboard. Here, she wears a simple strappy black jumpsuit, making it spring-appropriate with oversized sunglasses and accents of blush pink in her blazer, heels and embellished clutch.
