As part of our celebration of all things Europe and Eurovision, we’re looking at some of the best style the continent has to offer. This wouldn’t be complete without Italy; a country renowned just as much for its style as its beautiful weather and culinary delights. Think of Italian style and you think glamour; red lips, Sicilian lace, full skirts and sophisticated stilettos are the images that come to mind when it comes to the women of this country.

But there’s also another side to Italian style that isn’t all about the glam. A simpler approach to dressing is also seen in Italy, with oversized shapes and clean, sophisticated cuts typical of designers such as Marni and Prada. Italian women aren’t afraid to have fun with fashion either – think of blogger superstar Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad, who is well known for her use of bold colours and quirky prints in her outfits. The underlying theme in all of these styles, though, is unabashed femininity, celebrating the female form and strength of the Italian woman.
