The Autumn/Winter ’17 collections may be trickling in but we’re still in the depths of summer – and so are our wardrobes. While we’re busy planning our last-minute getaways (check out out travel guide for the best places to go), we’re also busy scrolling through Instagram for chic summer style inspo. When it comes to holiday dressing, we’re all about that effortless low-maintenance style that still oozes luxury and sophistication – think an all-black swimsuit under a loose floral cover-up and of course, sunglasses worthy of a 1950s Hollywood starlet.
Let’s face it though, here at MyBag we’re all about the bag (in fact, it’s often the starting point of every good outfit) and there’s only one bag brand we’ve got our eye on for our summer wardrobes. The brand in question is meli melo, the London-based brand that’s a newcomer to MyBag and has been creating totes, cross bodies and backpacks out of supple Italian leather since 2005 (Olivia Palermo is a big fan).
The brand comes from Melissa Del Bono (‘Meli’ was her childhood nickname), inspired by both the traditional wicker baskets of Sicily and sleek minimalism of London to create handbags that were exceptionally crafted and contemporary yet subtle enough to be timeless. With this summer’s breakout accessory star being the wicker bag, meli melo has landed on MyBag at just the right time (but the use of leather and quality craftsmanship mean these bags will last so much longer) – and we can’t wait to start styling the different pieces.
